1. 表示“杰出的，优秀的，极好的”

outstanding, perfect, excellent, superb, exceptional

exceptional 非常好的，杰出的：an exceptional student 出类拔萃的学生；还可以表示“罕见的，不寻常的”：This is an exceptional case; I’ve never seen anything like it before. 这是个不寻常的案例，我以前从没见过这样的事。

2. 表示“评价，评定；估价，估计”的动词

assess, evaluate, rate, judge, estimate

【语境感悟】

Many of the adults were assessed as having learning difficulties. 这些成年人中许多被评定有学习障碍。

The value of the business was assessed at $1.25 million. 对该企业的估价为125万美元。（此时，assess相当于estimate，表示“估价”，用于“assess/estimate sth. + 数量”结构中。在日常英语中，人们常说put sth. at an amount：The damage was put at thousands of dollars. 损失估计有数千美元。）

It can be difficult to evaluate the effectiveness of different treatments. 要对各种治疗方法的效果作出评估会很难。（注意：evaluate没有“估价”的意思）

spring – sprang/sprung- sprung （突然地）跳起，跳跃

He sprang to his feet and ran downstairs. 他一跃而起，冲到楼下。

spring 主要用于文学作品。在日常英语中，人们通常说jump：He jumped out of bed. 他跳下床。

skip （尤指因快乐而）蹦跳着走；跳绳；跳过，略过

They saw the man with a little girl skipping along behind him.

他们看见那个男人身后还跟着一个蹦蹦跳跳的小姑娘。

She skipped lunch in order to go shopping. （没有吃午饭）

skip school/class 逃学/逃课；skip/jump rope 跳绳

bounce 弹跳，蹦跳

Children love bouncing on beds. 小孩子喜欢在床上蹦跳。

The ball bounced off the post and into the goal. 球从门柱上弹入了球门。

leap （尤书面语）跳跃；跳越

The deer leapt over the fence. 这头鹿跳过了栅栏。

hop 单足蹦跳

He was hopping around because he’d injured his foot. 他弄伤了脚，只得单脚跳着走。

4. 表示“与…有关的”

be related to, be associated with, be relevant to, be linked to, be connected with
